Backgammon anchoring strategy summary points:
Anchors are defensive points in your opponent's home board, occupied by two or more of your checkers. Anchoring provides you with a place to land in case you get hit and keeps your opponent from reaching his home board.
Try to occupy the higher points (20,21) early in the game. If you fall behind, the lower points (22,23,24) will gain more value because the purpose of the Backgammon anchoring strategy is to establish your home board and wait for a shot.
In general, it is best to create consecutive anchors.
Allowing your blots (uncovered checkers) to be hit may assist you in creating anchors, gaining time and observing your additional advantages.
