The High Stakes Backgammon Event at the Strawberry Hill Hotel and Spa
The Strawberry Hill Hotel and Spa establishment recently launched their high stakes backgammon tournament. The backgammon event is scheduled on June 6th, 2008 and will end on June 8th, 2008. The event will be held in the hotel establishment located in Irish Town, St. Andrew. The game of backgammon is considered to be a board game for two players whose main goal is to move all of their checkers place on the backgammon board, according to the result of the dice throw.
This is the 3rd staging of the high stakes backgammon tournament and around thirty-two players are expected to join the event for money and the prizes available are at $1.5 million. The high stakes backgammon tournament organizer, Alastair MacBeath commented that the game of backgammon is loved by a lot of people all over the world and the High Stakes Backgammon event at Strawberry Hill is the very first backgammon tournament of its kind in Jamaica.
The registration cost that players needed to pay in order to join the backgammon tournament is $35,000, which will cover the player's participation, food and drinks for the event.
